Wolf squared
Christmas has come and gone for a while. But I haven’t shown you my handmade presents. I found myself to be in a little energy – low. I blame the first three months of pregnancy. Sewing the gifts was about all I could handle!
But behold! You’re hearing from me again. The umpteenth blog reanimation. I’m not quitting!
First of all, I wanted to show you the gifts I made for my sister’s beautiful daughters. When I asked what they needed, pyjamas was the answer, so pyjamas I made!
I used, of course, the Wolf pattern by Zonen 09 and planned a trip to Madeline de stoffenmadam fabric shop. I came home with a huge stash of new fabrics, including two of the animal print panels by Bambiblauw. Thanks to Nancy who owns the shop, I found soft french terry to combine them with.
Unfortunately, the french terry was not stretchy enough for the borders, as I had hoped, but I had enough of the panels to fix this issue.
For the cape (which had to be included of course!) I used the same french terry and a fluffy type of fleece for extra softness. Left a bit of a mess in my hobby room, that fabric!
I was really pleased with the result and the girls wanted to put them on immediately after unwrapping them! I consider that to be the best compliment to my work…
For Renske, I made the size 8y, but used the length for 9y. She’s quite tall and thin. I combined the black and white panda grid fabric with a soft pink terry…
For Fenne, I used the leopard fabric, she’s a bit more of a tomboy. I combined with a grey terry. I also opted to make the right size for her age but also lengthened it.
Pattern: Wolf – Zonen 09
Fabrics: Madeline de stoffenmadam
The capes, especially, were a big hit! 😉
Fenne felt like a superhero right away!
Flavie did not want to be left out of course, she also wanted to ‘dress up’. Thankfully, the girls arrived at the Christmas party in a unicorn onesie. Our little girl wouldn’t take it off afterwards! <3
